Model wind turbine
MoWiTo0.6
The rotor blades of our MoWiTo 0.6 model wind turbine are equipped with stepper motors featuring encoders, ensuring precise control over pitch angles. With a remarkable pitch angle accuracy of 0.25°, facilitated by a special attachment mechanism, our system guarantees optimal performance. Additionally, a generator with an encoder ensures reliable power generation and control.
Rated at 20 W, our system is optimized for wind speeds of 7 m/s, providing consistent performance even in challenging conditions. Users have the option to attach strain gauges for thrust measurements, offering valuable insights into turbine performance.
Comprehensive measurements including power, voltage, current, torque, number of revolutions, and thrust are facilitated, allowing for thorough analysis and optimization. Components are easily accessible, and noise reduction is ensured through the use of two separate cables for measurement signals.
Load control is efficiently managed with field-effect transistors, ensuring stable operation under varying conditions. The control unit for the turbine, housed in a control box featuring the NI cRIO 9066, offers seamless integration and operation.
Our system also boasts user-friendly features, including easy and quick connection with the control box and intuitive control and analysis capabilities provided by the LabView software.
